Understanding the Work

Our work together is an active process. It is a collaboration between your nervous system, your psyche, the medicine, and the guide who holds the space. Here is how it unfolds.

The Arc

A Closer Look at Each Step

  • Your first step is a free 20-minute virtual conversation. There’s no commitment, no paperwork. We will answer any questions you have and take an honest look at whether this work is a good fit for where you are right now. The consultations are designed to help you feel completely confident and ready to move forward.

  • If we decide to move forward, you will meet virtually with a Journey Clinical medical provider for a thorough evaluation of your medical and psychiatric history. If approved, they will prescribe enough ketamine for two dosing sessions. After at least one dosing session, you can schedule a follow-up appointment with Journey Clinical. They will assess your response, adjust your dose as needed, and prescribe enough medication for up to six additional sessions.

  • Before the first dosing session, we meet in person or virtually for at least one 50-minute session. This is where we slow down, learn the terrain of your past, present, and future goals. This allows us to create the healing container together. You are welcome to take as many intake sessions as you need in order to work through any trauma you want to address before we begin or explore themes to bring into the dosing sessions.

  • The first two dosing sessions are fully guided by the therapist, who is in the room the entire time. In person is strongly preferred, the container is richer, the support is more immediate, and the space has been designed with your experience in mind. For those who are unable to travel or live at a distance, virtual guided sessions may be available if no other options exist. We can talk through what that looks like for your specific situation.

Each session is two hours. You will self-administer your lozenge in a comfortable, supported setting with eye mask, curated music, and my full presence throughout. The container is yours to shape. Crystals, Reiki, oracle cards, aromatherapy, sound, or whatever healing traditions call to you can be woven in. There is plenty of time to fully journey, return to baseline, and have a nourishing snack before you head home. You will need a driver for every in-person dosing session, so please plan accordingly.

Self-guided dosing- After your first two fully guided sessions, and when clinically appropriate, dosing can transition to your own home and be conducted without the therapist’s guidance. Self-guided sessions are more flexible and less expensive, and I am on call throughout each one, so you are never fully alone in the process.

  • After every single dosing session, whether in person or self-guided, in person or virtual, we meet for a dedicated 50-minute integration session. These can be held in person or virtually and ideally occur within a few days of each dose, while the experience is still fresh in you. This is where the medicine becomes meaning, and meaning becomes change.

  • This rhythm of dosing followed by integration continues for the full arc of your treatment. Most clients complete eight doses, and some choose to continue with a prescription renewal. The process is never one-size-fits-all. We assess together regularly, adjust the pacing as needed, and let your response guide what comes next. The work is done when you say it is.

There is no right way to do this work. The only requirement is honesty about what aligns with your soul and goals.

Choose Your Depth

Options include:

  • Fully Clinical- You want evidence-based therapy in a warm, thoughtful space. You are curious about ketamine's therapeutic potential and open to the process, and that is enough. We work with IFS, EMDR, and trauma-focused approaches. The space is beautiful, but the work is grounded. Nothing woo required.

  • Blended- You are drawn to both the clinical rigor and the sacred dimension. You want the science and the soul retrieval. You are open to oracle cards and EMDR in the same session, and you trust that they are not as different as they seem.

  • Fully Immersive- You are ready to go all the way in, relying more heavily on shamanic practices, deep energy work, soul retrieval, and the full mystical container alongside the clinical framework. You know this territory, or you are ready to enter it, so we move through the healing process with the medicine and the sacred arts held together.
